Bariatric patients seek Revisional Surgery for various reasons. Some may experience an inadequate resolution of co-morbidities or not enough weight loss. Technology has advanced bariatric procedures over the last 30 years, so those who had surgery early on may benefit from newer techniques which may provide greater weight loss.
Dr. Leithead is experienced in both open and advanced laparoscopic revision of all surgical procedures. He will evaluate your individual situation and recommend the procedure best for you. The important thing to remember is that it’s not you who has failed. The procedure, for whatever reason, failed you. Dr. Leithead will review your history and help you determine if you are a good candidate for a revisional procedure.
Insurance approval for bariatric surgery can be a difficult maze to maneuver. Our practice has 7 Patient Advocates who focus on obtaining insurance approval for patients. They will verify your insurance and walk you through any required prerequisites prior to surgery. When you call our office you will be introduced to your Patient Advocate who will work with you until the time you are scheduled for surgery.
If your insurance does not cover bariatric surgery, your Patient Advocate will discuss our cash pay prices and financing options.
Dr. Leithead accepts all insurances, including Medicare.
